Details of the Nikon COOLPIX S33

Most durable survival cameras have a militaristic feel to them, however the s33 keeps it simple. A smooth molded plastic body, and a basic 3X zoom lens with only a few controls makes it a win. Some may say look closer to a Fisher-Price toy, however your grandma can use it, your kids can use it, they can drop it, they can kick it… And it will keep working.

The menu system is so easy for anyone to navigate. It’s even more of a visual experience, with some actions titles changed (*example: “fisheye” becomes “at a fisheye effect”). This along with the new layout of the control scheme makes it as simple as it gets.  Most anyone to pick it up and start shooting, however there are settings below the hood for people to dive into that want to get more creative.

If you’re just looking for a rugged camera take with you and your family on trips, the Nikon COOLPIX S33 is a good value. It has decent picture quality, fast turn on time, and your kids can mess around with it without destroying the camera the first day.

Buy this camera!

After doing my homework and researching, I determined this camera would meet my needs. Simply stated: I needed a good camera for family road trips to the beach and back. I got stellar underwater pictures! My sister brought with her a cheaper camera that could not change from photo video while wet, and could not zoom.. Spend the extra it will not disappoint!
